The famous Intermezzo to the third act of George Bizets opera »Carmen«, transcribed for eight double basses, is an audience winner! The Spanish mood and idiom works well for octet and its repetitive castanet-like rhythm pervades throughout the whole piece. In this arrangement Bass 1 and 2 are especially challenged.
