Wir können sie nur zum Vergnügen spielen! Aber ist es nicht genau das, worum es im Musikunterricht geht - den Schülern Freude am Spielen und Hören der schönsten Werke der Musikgeschichte zu vermitteln. Diese Stücke wurden ausgewählt, um jungen Kontrabassisten diese Freude zu vermitteln.

It is ten well-known, beautiful and interesting works from the musical canon which today cannot be found on the obligatory programme of double bass competitions and also in school curriculum. We can only play them for pleasure! But is that not what teaching music is all about – to provide the pupil with pleasure from playing and hearing the most beautiful works in the history of music. These pieces have been selected to provide that enjoyment for young double bass players. The publication is intended for double bass in orchestral tuning and piano.
